Ohio poker dealer caught stealing casino pot

CLEVELAND (WKRC) – A poker dealer has been accused of stealing the pot while working at an Ohio casino.

Jason Saliba, 51, worked at the JACK Cleveland Casino. Now he has been charged in an Ohio court with 14 felony counts of violating casino gambling laws and theft, according to USA Today.

According to Cleveland.com, a casino patron discovered the theft. On September 6, the patron told a casino manager that Saliba was stealing from the pot. Saliba worked in the poker room at the time.

Staff reviewed surveillance footage to verify the allegation. According to the report, Saliba was seen taking money from the table five times.

The casino fired Saliba the next day.

An indictment obtained by USA TODAY on Monday accused Saliba of stealing 14 times over a one-month period. The indictment did not say how much Saliba had taken.

Court records show Saliba was arraigned in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and given a $2,500 personal bond.
