While Katy Perry showed the world what she’s worth, Orlando Bloei drew his own attention.

The “Firework” singer took the stage at the 2024 MTV VMAs, hosted by Megan Thee Stallion—on September 11, to give an epic nine-minute performance of her greatest hits prior to accepting the Video Vanguard Award.

The kick-off to Perry’s performance was the Pirates of the Caribbean star introduced his “irresistible” fiancée to the crowd, raving: “You fell in love with her like Katy Perry. I fell in love with her like Katherine Hudson. You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor to every song she writes and every music video she makes. I know her as a mother, as a partner, who brings that same love and joy to our family.”

But while the 39-year-old stunned on stage by dancing and singing songs like “Dark Horse,” “ET,” “California Gurls,” “I Kissed a Girl,” “Firework” and more, fans noticed Bloom in the audience thanks to his facial expressions.
