Pacers Tyrese Haliburton blames Stephen Curry for poor shooting night

play

DETROIT – Tyrese Haliburton said he believes some of the blame for his 1 of 9 three-point shooting performance in the Pacers’ 115-109 win over the Pistons should go to the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history.

Haliburton spent a lot of time talking to Stephen Curry during their time together with Team USA for the Olympics this summer and Haliburton picked his brain on everything he could, including pre-game routines. Haliburton heeded Curry’s advice before the game on Wednesday and said he will never repeat that again.

“Honestly, I’m probably going to blame Steph,” Haliburton said jokingly. “Because he convinced me to try out pre-match naps because I told him I don’t nap, and he told me to try it out and text him after the match to see the result. So he gets a text from me No more pre-game naps for Tyrese soon.”

Haliburton still finished with 15 points on 6 of 18 shooting to go with four assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. His only three-pointer was crucial, a 25-footer with 21 seconds left that put the Pacers up 113-107 and effectively won the game, but he would have preferred not to miss his first eight.
