Packers fans excited about a ‘winter alert’ in Lambeau for game against Texans

LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) – It may be a comfortable October weekend, but the Packers are giving everyone a “winter warning” when they take the field on Sunday.

The team will debut the team’s new white uniforms when they take on the Houston Texans.

Winter is coming early this year, and while it may be warmer than normal on Sunday, you could still find yourself in a whiteout.

While the atrium is buzzing with Packers fans and Houston fans, some Packers fans are rocking their white jerseys in preparation for the Winter Warning. The Packers hope everyone will join in by wearing white so it feels like a snowstorm.

A Texas couple made their very first stop in Titletown and they are simply amazed at the love for football.

“Just like how packed it is, no pun intended. How busy it is, even on non-game days. That’s a rarity, I would say, for back home in San Antonio,” said Rebecca Villarreal of San Antonio.

“Being here as a football fan, it’s almost like the Madison Square Garden of football,” said Aaron Williams of San Antonio. “It’s really cool because you see all the new stadiums, like the one they just built in LA, and you’re like, aw, all those bells and whistles and stuff. But it’s really cool to just see all the history.”

Or for fans like Remy from Wyoming, who celebrates his birthday here with his family and watches his favorite team.

“I’m just excited to see a good match. I think it will be pretty close,” said Remy Lindell. But the icing on the cake is seeing his favorite team take on his favorite player: Stefon Diggs.

“He is my favorite player of all time. He’s so fun to watch. I love watching his route run,” Remy said.

Sunday will be young Brody Allen’s first ever game. He gets to experience it with his grandfather, sitting in the front row behind the Packers.

“When my grandpa told me he was taking me to the Packers game, I thought, ‘Oh my goodness!’ Then he told me about Row 1, and I didn’t know what to say,” Brody said.

It will be a first for many at Lambeau and it should be even “cooler” when the team takes the field thanks to the white uniforms.
