Plenty of sun with a super moon from Friday to Sunday

The weekend is here and the weather pattern looks no different. We have more dry weather, no chance of precipitation and temperatures are returning to above average.

By morning time it’s likely that the nearly full and brilliant Beaver Moon will have set in the western sky, but with all the clear skies over the next few days you’ll get another chance to see it rise a few minutes before 4am tonight. o’clock and reset tomorrow morning at 7 o’clock. One thing to note is that the moon rises in the northeast and sets in the northwest, similar to where the sun rises and sets in the summer months.

Once temperatures warm up here this morning, we’ll head into the 50s this afternoon with a little breeze, but it should be relatively comfortable. Another red flag warning has been placed due to increased fire danger. Up north in eastern Maine, a winter weather advisory is in effect due to the potential for some slick travel this morning.

When you get up Saturday morning, temperatures will be above freezing throughout southern New England and it will be sometime later next week or longer before we get another frost or frost. Saturday and Sunday are very similar days weather-wise, although the wind will be a bit noticeable on Saturday afternoon with that gusty current.

There will be less wind on Sunday, but both days there will be temperatures in the 60s between about 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, when the high temperatures occur.

This month’s full moon will also produce 10-foot tides in Boston Harbor. The high tide on Saturday comes in at 10:49 AM and 11:29 PM and on Sunday at 11:39 AM

Southern New England: It’s a cold start, but a milder finish today with temperatures rising into the 50s. During the weekend, make sure there is plenty of sunshine, with temperatures in the low 60s in the afternoon.

Western Mass: This afternoon temperatures will approach 50 degrees with lots of sunshine and a moderate northwest wind. Tomorrow will be a bit milder, towards the low to mid 50s, and still breezy.

Cape and Islands: Three sunny days are planned today with temperatures in the low 50s. It will be in the mid to upper 50s this weekend with lots of sunshine. There may be a noticeable breeze on Saturday, making it feel a bit cooler.

Northern New England: Make sure you get enough sun today after a cold start. The temperature will rise above 40 degrees to almost 50 degrees Celsius. Far eastern Maine may see some patchy freezing drizzle this morning, but any travel issues should quickly pass by mid-morning.
