Predictions, how to watch the London match

play

The Jacksonville Jaguars defend their home base against the New England Patriots in London on Sunday morning.

Both teams have had bad luck in the 2024 NFL season, but both teams also had drastically different expectations going into it. The Jaguars wanted to compete in the AFC a year after finishing second in the AFC South and two seasons after winning.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has taken most of the blame on his shoulder pads this season. After a lackluster performance against the Chicago Bears, Lawrence and head coach Doug Pederson must quickly figure out their offense in the bottom third as their playoff hopes are dashed.

The spotlight is not only on the Jaguars starter, but also on the new Patriots QB. Drake Maye took over the reins from Jacoby Brissett as QB1 in Week 6, and had a respectable performance: Maye threw three touchdowns against two interceptions in the loss to Houston, but showed some flashes

Maye appears to be going up, as Lawrence looks at the ship across the pond. USA TODAY Sports will provide live updates, highlights and more from the Week 7 matchup in London between the Jaguars and Patriots below.

The Patriots enter Week 7 in the cellar of the AFC East. Here’s how the division lines up going into Sunday’s games:

  1. Buffalo notes (4-2)
  2. Miami Dolphins (2-3)
  3. New York Jets (2-4)
  4. New England Patriots (1-5)

The Jaguars running back, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, will not play against the Patriots, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Etienne has had to deal with a number of nagging injuries this season, but this will be the first match in which he will not play.

Jaguars fans hoping for a coaching change may not get their wish. Jacksonville owner Shad Khan recently gave Doug Pederson a vote of confidence, even though it happened before their Week 6 drubbing at the hands of the Bears.

Drake Maye has become the newest Patriots QB since Tom Brady left for Tampa Bay. The passer list for the Patriots isn’t overly long, nor is it overly distinctive. Here’s who they are.
