Returns for John Mulaney musical parody

Pete Davidson returned to “Saturday Night Live” on November 2 to appear in a risqué skit with his good friend and host, John Mulaney.

The sketch was about a person asking to buy milk from Port Authority cashier Duane Reade, which locals would consider avoiding. The play then erupted into a full-cast party parodying various showtunes and New York City-centric topics.

The musical numbers started with a “Lion King” parody of Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim’s Milk; the shampoo is locked in a Marcello Hernandez and Mulaney “Sound of Music” parody; Bowen Yang as a deranged Greyhound bus driver to the tune of “Master of the House” from “Les Miserables”; “All the Twinks Arriving for the Timothée Chalamet Look-alike Contest,” fronted by Chloe Fineman’s impression of the actor, who sings a version of “Willkommen” from “Cabaret”; Mayor Eric Adams’ potentially illegal associations with Turkey, played by Devon Walker to the tune of “Prince Ali” from “Aladdin”; Andy Samberg portrays the dead bear that robbed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted to dumping in Central Park to the tune of the anthem “Alexander Hamilton” from “Hamilton”; and a full-cast showstopper that parodies “We Go Together” from “Grease.”

Davidson and Mulaney received applause midway through the sketch when they called each other by their real names, causing Davidson to grin.

Davidson was a cast member of “Saturday Night Live” from 2014 to 2022, where he was known for his stand-up segments during “Weekend Update,” in which he frequently discussed his personal life as well as recurring characters like Chad. He also presented the show in 2023.

Mulaney is known for similar tri-state musical parodies when he hosts, such as “Airport Sushi,” “Bodega Bathroom,” “Diner Lobster” and “Subway Churro.”
