Baby Reindeer wasn’t the only one to win multiple awards, the hit series The Bear also won four times.

In their opening monologue, father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy joked that the show – officially classified as a comedy – would be better categorized as a drama.

The series follows a celebrity chef (Jeremy Allen White) who returns to Chicago to run the family business after the death of his brother.

Allen White described himself as “so, so, so happy” after winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto.

“This show has changed my life, it has instilled a belief that change is possible, that change is possible if you are able to connect, you are truly not alone,” he said on stage.

His win came after American actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his role as restaurant manager Richard “Richie” Jerimovich in The Bear.

Meanwhile, the FX series Shogun, about aristocratic politics in feudal Japan, had already set a record for most Emmys for a single season for a series, with 14 wins at the predecessor Creative Arts Emmy Awards last weekend.

The show grabbed all the Emmy clout in the top categories by moving from the limited series to the drama category in May when it began developing more seasons. And it was, in a sense, Emmy royalty from the start.

During the golden age of the miniseries, the original 1980 Shogun, based on the historical novel by James Clavell, won three, including Best Miniseries.
