Saints TE Taysom Hill, LB Willie Gay leave game with injuries

ATLANTA – New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill left Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons with an abdominal injury in the second quarter and did not return. In the third quarter he was excluded from the match.

Hill scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half of the game, had a key block on a 13-yard gain by running back Alvin Kamara and gained seven yards on a 4th-and-1 play to set up his own touchdown.

Those touchdowns were the first two scores of the season for Hill, who left a Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys with a pectoral injury. Hill was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. According to Fox Sports, the diagnosis was a bruised lung. He did not play in last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hill appeared to be holding his chest/stomach on the field after a play in the second quarter and ran to the sideline. He entered the injury tent and quickly left with athletic trainers to the locker room and did not return.

Saints linebacker Willie Gay (hand) also left the game early and was ruled out, leaving the Saints short-handed at linebacker after Demario Davis (hamstring) missed the first game of his career due to injury.
