Sam Mitchell apparently broadcasts Chris Miles’ speech on NBA TV

An unexpected verbal altercation between co-hosts Sam Mitchell and Chris Miles added a strange twist to an NBA TV segment on Friday night, where Mitchell seemingly revealed Miles’ address after threatening earlier in the show.

The incident stemmed from a discussion about Warriors stars Draymond Green and Stephen Curry, along with longtime coach Steve Kerr, after a photo of them was shown with Curry wearing his gold medal from the Paris Olympics.

But while Curry has one from last summer, Mitchell — a retired NBA player who coached the Raptors from 2004 to 2008 and was interim head coach of the Timberwolves from 2015 to 2016 — pointed out that Kerr doesn’t do that, as coaches do don’t. No Olympic medals received for all sports.

“The coaches don’t get any medals,” he said. “I think it just tells you how international – how they value coaches. Not at all.”

“I’m surprised coaches get paid on this show,” Miles replied, trying to keep the atmosphere light. “I think you might have to do this pro bono, my friend.”

“You know, the last time I looked at my check, it was pretty close,” Mitchell replied. “So hey, I’m taking donations.”

Mitchell began to feel uneasy and quickly turned his attention to Miles.

“Why don’t you get rid of some of that money you have? Because that’s what you’re bragging about,” he said.

“I don’t brag about it,” Miles replied, laughing.

However, it was no laughing matter for Mitchell, who opened up about Miles’ properties and finances.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” Mitchell said. “Did you rent out your beach house in Florida during the hurricane? Or should I move on? What about your townhouse?

‘You want to call me. I mean, come on. You scream, broke and hungry. Let’s just see. You know, I know what you got and where you live, young fella. So you have to stop.”

Miles tried to bring the conversation back by joking, “I think we have snitches on the show today. His name is Sam Mitchell.

But Mitchell didn’t bite.

“No, we don’t have any traitors,” Mitchell said. “We have truth tellers. You are the one crying here poor and destitute: should I continue, or do you want me to stop now?

“Should we go to this game between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors?” Miles tried again.

“I told you, young fella, to stop picking on me on national television,” Mitchell said. ‘I already told you that. Hey, should I give you the address? Because you’re not home right now.’

Although Mitchell didn’t immediately reveal Miles’ address on air, he reportedly said it later on air mid-game, adding to the back-and-forth in the awkward, bizarre moment.
