A series of stabbings in Sydney’s south have forced police to close roads, including the Princes Highway around Engadine. Police have tasered a suspect who is believed to have run away from the scene of a car crash that left several people, including a police officer, injured.

Multiple calls were made to Triple Zero after a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Princes Highway and Old Bush Road on Sunday morning at around 9am.

Sutherland Shire Police arrived to find a man who appeared to have suffered stab wounds and was reportedly running from the scene. He was arrested after being struck with a Taser, reportedly causing a serious laceration to the arresting officer’s left wrist.

Eyewitness “Wayne” told radio station 2GB that a man and a woman in a white Jaguar sedan drove through the intersection and hit a blue Mitsubishi Lancer.

The man got out of the Jaguar and said, “I’m going to kill you,” Wayne said, adding that the man was armed with a Stanley knife and began “ranting and raving.”

A woman – believed to be a passenger in a vehicle involved in the collision – was also found with multiple injuries.

A fourth injured person was found, but it is unclear what exactly that person did.

All four people were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the Princes Highway is closed in both directions between Farnell Avenue and Heathcote Road.
