Taylor Swift really could have been “The One” if it weren’t for that Billboard.

On Tuesday, November 26, the “So High School” singer was awarded second place Billboard‘s list of the biggest pop stars of the 21st century, but despite the honor, fans wondered why she wasn’t right at the top.

Billboard has not yet announced who will get the No. 1 spot, although fans online are already speculating that this will happen Beyonce. Other artists on the list so far include Rihanna at number 3, Drake at number 4 and Lady Gaga at number 5.

But many fans raised their eyebrows when Swift made the list, especially considering the achievements listed by Billboard to qualify her for the honor.

Among her numerous accolades, Swift, 34, is listed as the best-selling recording artist to debut this century. She is also the top-charting artist with the most Hot 100 entries (264 songs), and is the solo artist to have had the most No. 1 weeks.

Moreover, it is noted that she has made a historic debut, occupying the entire Top 14 of the Hot 100 list. Additionally, she has had the most consecutive years at No. 1 (soloist), most albums in the Top 10 for at least a full year, most albums in the Top 10 simultaneously, and most albums in the Top 25 simultaneously.

“Every achievement on the banner has the word ‘highest’ and you’re telling me she’s the *second* best? Just kidding,” one outraged fan wrote on X.

“This is WRONG,” someone else complained, while another user insisted: “This must be a joke.”

“This woman literally owns the music industry. She has the highest grossing tour ever and is one of the best selling female artists. They expect us to believe she is number 2,” someone else added.

Another tweet read: “We all know this is false.”

Despite the assumption that Beyoncé will be number 1, Billboard had yet to announce the top artist on the list at the time of writing.
