Ted Cruz’s daughter Caroline Winces upon mentioning Trump in viral TikTok

Ted Cruz took the stage on November 5 to address his supporters after winning re-election in Texas and another six years in the Senate. In his victory speech, Cruz accused Democrats of trying to “buy this Senate seat,” celebrated his increased support for Latinos and shared his plans to crack down on immigrants crossing the southern border illegally.

“I believe… and I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be re-elected as President of the United States,” Cruz said in his speech, surrounded by supporters and family. But in a TikTok post that’s been viewed nearly a million times, an eagle-eyed user captured a split-second moment when Cruz mentioned Trump: His daughter Caroline visibly grimaced and mouthed what users said appeared to be are: ‘Don’t clap for that. .”

Users poured in with support, saying, “The ‘don’t clap for that’ is so valid” and “WE LOVE THIS DIVA” with thousands of likes supporting each comment.

It is not the first time that Caroline has attracted attention because she disagrees with her father’s political position. In 2022, she shared a now-deleted TikTok post explaining the differences she has with her Republican senator father. “A lot of people judge me based on him at first glance,” she said. “But I really don’t agree with most of his views.”

Caroline’s account became private shortly after the video gained traction when users shared screenshots of her profile that listed her pronouns as she/her and described her as “bi,” which were shared by the media at the time.
