The ballots in Wisconsin favor the Democrats, early and personally thin Republicans

(WLUK) — The latest poll from Marquette Law School was released this week, showing just how tight the race is for Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes.

Attention was also paid to how voters cast their ballots: absentee, early in person, or in person on Election Day.

The poll’s director says a modest number of votes have already been cast, about a million. Half of this was done by post and the other half in person.

It’s hard to know where they lean, but it’s clear that early voting is becoming increasingly popular in Wisconsin.

“In 2016 and before, Wisconsin wasn’t exactly an early voting state. We had absentee ballots, of course, but it wasn’t anything big. Obviously, it really exploded with the pandemic,” said Charles Franklin, director of the Marquette. Law School Survey.

We can take a closer look at voting preferences with the poll and its results.

Again, there are three options: absentee mail, early in person, and in person on Election Day.

Residents who voted by mail chose Kamala Harris by a wide margin: 70 to 30 over Donald Trump.

In the other two categories, things are turning around for Trump, but they are also tightening. He is favored in early in-person voting, 52 to 47.

Trump is also favored by those who say they will vote in person on Election Day, 56 to 44.

So the pollsters say the early returns on Election Day will lean Republican and the votes coming later in the process will lean Democratic.
