The Jets’ trade for Davante Adams increases their chances of making the Super Bowl

Monday night’s loss to the Bills was a blow, but trading for Davante Adams is a nice luxury for a 2-4 team on the outside looking in to make the playoffs.

The Jets were +650 to win the AFC East after their 23-20 loss, but quickly dropped to +500 after acquiring Adams in a major market move.

According to DraftKings, the Jets also moved down from 40/1 to 35/1 to win the Super Bowl.

They are now 18/1 to win the AFC, down from 20/1, and own +145 odds to make the play-offs, a small move from the +155 they had before this blockbuster- sets.

New York recently fired coach Robert Saleh and has now acquired Adams within seven days. It’s absolute chaos under owner Woody Johnson as the Jets go all-in for 2024.

Adams may return to the field this weekend as he recovers from a hamstring injury he suffered as a member of the Raiders.

He is expected to form a top receiver combo with Garrett Wilson, while Mike Williams appears to be the odd man out in a loaded offensive weapons quartet.

The Jets are slight 1.5-point favorites on the road in Pittsburgh on “Sunday Night Football,” as they have a must-win game as they look at the prospect of falling to 2-5.

Russell Wilson is expected to start for the Steelers on Sunday in what will be his season debut, despite Justin Fields leading Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start.
