Las Vegas (KSNV) — October’s record temperatures continue Friday, with much-needed relief just around the corner.

FRIDAY: Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies in Las Vegas with high temperatures reaching 96 degrees this afternoon.

Friday’s forecast high would shatter the record high of 95 degrees last set in 1991.

This afternoon the wind from the south will increase slightly at speeds of 5 to 25 km per hour, with gusts of around 40 km per hour this afternoon and early evening.

Air quality this morning is ‘good’ and pollen levels remain ‘low’.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Skies will go from mostly cloudy to mostly clear overnight, with low temperatures in the valley dropping to around 68 degrees.

The wind is blowing weakly from the southwest up to 10 km/h.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Daytime highs will drop to the low 90s on Sunday under mostly sunny skies. We’ll monitor for more changes in our weather pattern next week.

Our next weather maker will increase winds and cause a sharp drop in temperatures by the end of the week.

As of now, low highs will drop into the low 80s on Thursday, while temperatures will drop further into the 70s by NEXT Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to quickly return to the low 80s as we close out NEXT weekend.
