Ticketmaster will use the upgraded tickets from iOS 18

Ticketmaster has announced that it will be the first participating ticket issuer for the enhanced interactive ticket experience in Apple’s Wallet app on iOS 18.

The Los Angeles Football Club’s upcoming game at BMO Stadium on Saturday, October 19 will be the first event to introduce the Wallet app’s upgraded tickets, while the Miami Heat will debut the new ticketing experience. You can add your ticket to the iPhone’s Wallet app via the Ticketmaster or LAFC app. Once in Wallet, your ticket will allow you to access important location data, use Ticketmaster ticket management features, and much more, all in one place. Ticketmaster is expanding the availability of iOS 18-compatible event tickets in 2025.

“Ticketmaster’s new tickets take advantage of Apple Wallet’s enhanced ticketing experience,” the company said. “They will offer new designs tailored to the event fans are attending, bringing them closer to the gameday experience before it even starts.”

iOS 18’s Wallet offers much more useful event tickets that can embed richer information such as venue maps, parking details, local weather forecasts, curated Apple Music playlists, location sharing so you can find your friends when you arrive, and more. The new ticketing experience is available for concerts, sports matches, festivals, conferences and similar events. As before, these digital passes can be used for contactless NFC access.

iOS 18’s upgraded tickets are much more useful because they can now display seating information or the event start date and time, and include action buttons that link to in-app experiences including ordering food, purchasing merchandise, viewing a baggage policy, etc. Of course, the new ticketing experience is only available for tickets from participating publishers, and we now know that Ticketmaster will be the first Apple partner to offer it.

iOS 18’s Wallet also supports interactive event guides. If I were a concert organizer, I could easily create a Wallet ticket with an event guide that combines useful venue information with Apple app recommendations and links to additional services. The Wallet app also provides ticket updates through the Live Activities feature and intelligently displays services and recommendations from relevant Apple apps such as Weather or Calendar.
