Minnesota Timberwolves superstar guard Anthony Edwards is truly one of a kind.

Edwards is great at what he does on the hardwood, but as we’ve learned about him over the years, he’s so much more than that.

Edwards is the ultimate athlete, and he has often bragged about it. Although he has established himself as a top player in the NBA in his short career, he plans to play in another professional league in a different sport.

Edwards shared his intention to play in the NFL if he wins an NBA title in the next three to four years.

If all goes well for the 23-year-old superstar, he will be 26 or 27 by then. It is unclear which position he wants to play, but we should not stop him from playing any position.

As a child, Edwards played running back, quarterback and cornerback positions. He played youth football for the Atlanta Vikings and became one of the top Pop Warner running backs in the country at the age of 10.

As we learned from Edwards, he is never shy to tell us how he feels about his abilities, regardless of the sport. Last summer, as a member of Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, he said he would be one of the members of the U.S. women’s table tennis team.

He also called himself the ‘No. 1 option” for Team USA, which included a loaded roster with LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

“I’m still the No. 1 option,” Edwards said while speaking to the media at Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas. “You all may look at it differently, but I don’t look at it differently.”

“I just go out there and be myself,” Edwards continued. “Shoot my shots, play defense and, you know. They have to fit in to play around me. That’s how I feel.”

Edwards is a confident man, and if he puts his mind to it, who are we to doubt him?

While his ambitions to play in the NFL are high, the city of Minnesota and the Timberwolves organization plan to keep him around for a long time, even if they win a title in that time frame.

The Timberwolves have yet to win an NBA title in their franchise history, but they feel they have the right player to guide them to new heights. Last year they came close to their first ever appearance in the NBA Finals, but fell short in the Western Conference Finals.

Although they shuffled their roster before the start of the season, they are still confident that they will be the team to represent the Western Conference in this year’s NBA Finals and get the job done.
