Despite a bad start, I played this quite well. SADNESS was a terrible opener, leaving me with a whopping 561 possible solutions. CLOAK has narrowed that down to just three: WACKY, TACKY and HACKY. I wasn’t thinking about HACKY, for all I knew I was tossing a coin. I wasn’t feeling particularly WACKY or TACKY today, so I went with what seemed like the most likely option and I was right! TACKY for the win!

I get 1 point for guessing three points and 0 for tying the Bot. Double that for 2XP Friday for a 2 point game. Huzzah!

How to play competitive Wordle

• Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
• If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. In case of a draw you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or play for a new score every day.
• Friday is 2XP, which means you double your points: positive or negative.
• You can keep a running tally or just play day by day. Enjoy!

Contemporary Wordle Etymology

The word tasteless originated in the US in the early 19th century and was initially used to describe something sticky or sticky (such as tackiness in glue). Over time, it began to describe things that were cheap, flashy, or in poor taste, probably based on the feeling of something unpleasantly sticky or of low quality.
