If there was any doubt Ariana Grande will be reprising her role as Glinda The Good Witch Bad very seriously, the star’s latest move is the perfect proof because Grande just corrected the official Bad Instagram account.

In the run-up to the release of the first film on November 22, the Bad account posts all kinds of content to get people excited as they prepare to hit theaters around the world, from behind-the-scenes content to premiere moments and, because this is a musical after all, songs.

On November 13, the Bad account posted videos featuring Cynthia Erivo’s and Ariana Grande’s rendition of the highly popular songs “The Wizard and I” and “Popular” from the musical, with lyrics on the screen, and Grande had a small correction.

In the video post for “Popular,” part of which ICYMI Mattel leaked earlier this year, the text reads: “Popular! You’re going to be popular! I will teach you the right thing balance wWhen you talk to guys, there are little ways to flirt and flirt.”

Although it is a widely circulated version on lyrics sites, Grande pointed out in the comments section that those lyrics were factually incorrect. “They’re ‘tricks’!!!!!” Grande wrote in the comments section, adding a little “I love you” note for the account to show that there were actually no hard feelings.

Ironically, the caption is for the Bad The account’s message read: “We know what’s popular. 🩷”But I think Grande knows more.

That said, the “balance” versus “tricks” debate is alive and well. While popular lyrics site Genius and even Apple Music prefer “balance,” Spotify and the original Broadway production’s official lyric video prefer “ploys.” A+ for Ariana Grande!
