Trump announces ‘Operation Aurora’ to target illegal immigrant gang members in Colorado

Former President Trump detailed his “Operation Aurora” – a federal-level program that would remove illegal immigrant members of the dangerous transnational Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua – during his rally in Colorado on Friday afternoon.

Trump held a rally in Aurora, Colorado, on Friday where he formally proposed the removal program. The program is expected to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle “any illegal migrant criminal network operating on U.S. soil.”

“My message today is very simple,” Trump said Friday. “No one who inflicted the violence and terror that Kamala Harris inflicted on this community can ever become President of the United States.”

Trump told the crowd in Aurora that “Colorado is going to vote for me because I am going to make Colorado safe again. We’re going to make you safe. We’re going to do it quickly.”

“I am announcing today that upon taking office we will conduct Operation Aurora at the federal level to expedite the removal of these savage gangs and I will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Think about that from 1798. This was placed there in 1790. . Yes, that was a long time ago, right?” Trump said on Friday. “Every criminal migrant network operating on American soil must be targeted and dismantled.”

He added, “Who would have ever thought that a president or a future president here would ever have to say things like that?”

Trump said “so many things” have changed since he left office, and accused President Biden and Vice President Harris of “absolutely destroying our country.”

“We are a country in tremendous need. We are a failing country. We are left all over the world,” he said.

Trump said that if elected, the federal government would send “elite teams of ICE, Border Patrol and federal law enforcement to hunt down, arrest and deport every illegal alien gang member until there are none left in this country.”

“And when they come back to our country, they’re going to be told it’s an automatic 10-year prison sentence with no possibility of parole,” Trump said.

The former president also said he would call for “the death penalty for any migrant who kills a U.S. citizen or law enforcement officer.”

“With your vote, we will achieve complete and total victory over these sadistic monsters,” Trump said.

The announcement comes after members of Tren de Aragua were caught on camera last month, armed with rifles and pistols, breaking into an Aurora apartment and threatening the tenant at gunpoint. Shortly afterwards, they opened fire on a 25-year-old man outside the building, fatally shooting him. Of the three individuals identified, all three are illegal aliens who were in Border Patrol custody but later released into the U.S.

The Trump campaign also points to the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was kidnapped, tied up and attacked under a bridge for two hours before allegedly being killed by two of the gang members.

TREN DE ARAGUA GANG MEMBER, ILLEGAL VENEZELAN MIGRER, ARRESTED IN HOUSTON

A campaign official said police this week arrested more than a dozen members of Tren de Aragua who had taken over another apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas and terrorized residents.

Citing newly released data from ICE, the campaign official said there are now 13,099 illegal alien convicted murderers at large in the United States “under border czar Kamala Harris.”

The gang is believed to have originated from Venezuelan prisons and moved north over the past decade. But its reputation within the US has grown this year, partly due to a number of high-profile crimes linked to the gang, many of whom are believed to have arrived by crossing the southern border as part of the surge in migration in recent years. .

A customs and border protection (CBP) bulletin in March warned officers about tattoos and other gang identification. Federal authorities had previously warned that the gang was trying to establish itself in the US and could potentially collaborate with the violent MS-13 gang.

In February, New York officials linked the gang to more than 62 robberies in the city, and two suspected gang members were arrested in connection with a shocking attack on two NYPD officers.

The brother of the suspect in the murder of Georgian student Laken Riley has ties to the gang, and 10 migrants affiliated with the gang were arrested in Texas earlier in May.

The gang has built up a significant presence parts of Colorado. Fox News Digital reported in July that TdA members have been given a “green light” to shoot or attack law enforcement in Denver.

More recently, reports have emerged that the gang has taken over at least two apartment buildings in Aurora, with surveillance footage showing heavily armed men kicking in an apartment door. The mayor of Aurora said on Fox News that there are “several buildings that are basically the same owner, outside of state ownership, that have fallen into the hands of these Venezuelan gangs.”

The Biden administration announced significant action against the gang in July when the Treasury Department labeled Tren de Aragua a “major transnational criminal organization.” This move blocks all of the gang’s assets and property in the US

Meanwhile, the State Department offered up to $12 million for information leading to the arrest of three gang leaders. The government also emphasized that it is working to disrupt the gang and has increased surveillance.
