Details: Trump emphasized that his future National Security Advisor is an “expert on the threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and global terrorism.”

Quote: “Mike has been a strong advocate for my America First foreign policy agenda and will be a tremendous advocate for our pursuit of peace through strength!”

As Europe’s Pravda previously reported, Waltz is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the first Green Beret (a former member of the U.S. Special Operations Forces) elected to Congress.

Waltz has experience as a Pentagon consultant and has worked in the defense sector as a leader at a Department of Defense contractor. In the House of Representatives, he focuses on countering China and reducing dependence on Chinese resources and is considered one of the most vocal critics of China in the Republican Party.

Despite having no previous experience in Trump’s administration, Waltz maintains a friendly relationship with him — thanks in part to his active defense of the former president during appearances on Fox News — and advises Trump on national security issues.

Waltz supports continued aid to Ukraine, with an emphasis on monitoring the spending of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

Background: European Pravda previously reported Trump’s decision to give the positions of Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to Marco Rubio and Michael Waltz. These politicians belong to the aggressive wing of the party and are more likely to support Ukraine than classic Trumpists.
