Washington Commanders quarterback trending to start Sunday against the Chicago Bears

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is feeling better and will likely start in today’s game against the Chicago Bears.

According to multiple reports, the team will make a final decision after seeing how Daniels feels after warming up before the game, but he is leaning toward playing the Bears. Daniels, who suffered a rib injury last week, participated in limited practice on Friday after not training on Wednesday and Thursday. He did participate in the team’s walk-through practice on Saturday.

If Daniels does play due to a rib injury he suffered last week, he will face Chicago’s Caleb Williams. Williams and Daniels were the first two players picked in the 2024 NFL draft and the two most recent Heisman Trophy winners.

If Daniels cannot go, he will be replaced by backup Marcus Mariota. Mariota came on in place of Daniels late in the first quarter and completed 18 of 23 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s 40–7 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 7.
