Watch Nate Bargatze’s SNL Monologue and Sketches starting October 5

The October 5 episode of Saturday evening live It was stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze’s second time hosting in just over a year. His return stint proved successful, with Bargatze kicking things off with a hilarious and self-deprecating seven-and-a-half-minute stand-up monologue that addressed the native Alabamian’s inability to pronounce the word “oil,” his roots in Alabama, and his obsession with DoorDash.

How to watch

Watch Saturday evening live Saturdays at 11:30/10:30 on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

The second entry of the historic Season 50 also saw a follow-up to Bargatze’s “Washington’s Dream” sketch, which saw the Revolutionary War hero rally his troops around America’s many inexplicable tropes. He played the straight man to cast member Marcello Hernández’s Don Francisco in a parody of the classic Sabado Gigante variety show, and was a golfer with terrible luck in a surreal, front band.

“Washington’s Dream 2”

Bargatze’s episode wasted no time in airing a sequel to his “Washington’s Dream,” one of the most-watched live sketches of season 49. In it, Bargatze’s George Washington tells his soldiers about some English-language head scratchers, like how we have 12 items “a dozen ‘, but not when it refers to grades 1 through 12 (“no, that’s… we don’t use it like that.”).

While Samberg had a recurring role as Doug Emhoff in season 50, a new Lonely Island Digital Short was a big surprise. Hear them!

“Golf Tournament”

In this pre-recorded sketch, a player at a charity golf event (Bargatze) has terrible luck on the green, but the wildlife that lives on the course is arguably luckier.

“Water park”

In what feels like a sketch of an entire sitcom episode, two EMTs and two lifeguards (Bargatze, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and new cast member Jane Wickline) debate what to do when a park visitor dies at the top of a water slide. – and there were certainly ‘a lot of steps on the way here’.

“Sabado Giant”

Despite having been on the air for over 50 years, a classic Spanish-language variety show Sabado Gigante somehow never got a good one SNL parody (well, a bit in Fred Armisen’s “Showbiz Grande Explosion!”). Marcello Hernández’s Don Francisco was worth the wait.

“Mile High Burger Challenge”

Mile High Burger Challenge

“Mile High Burger Challenge” is a real showcase for long-running cast member Heidi Gardner, as she plays a woman who awkwardly tries to eat a sky-high burger while the family she is with has an unsettling family conversation.

“Coach Alan”

The Friday evening lights episode that we definitely never saw.
