Linda McMahonThe 76-year-old former wrestling industry executive has been chosen by newly-elected US President Donald Trump to head the education department. This appointment emphasizes the historical bond between Trump and the McMahon family, including Linda’s wife, Vince. Trump’s involvement with WWE dates back to the late 1980s, when he hosted WrestleMania IV and V at his Atlantic City facility, Trump Plaza.
An important highlight took place on WrestleMania 23 in 2007. The event featured a ‘Battle of Billionaires’ where Trump emerged victorious, leading to him shaving Vince McMahon’s head following their staged rivalry. This theatrical confrontation reached its climax on April 1, 2007.
The conflict began in January 2007, when Trump showed his theatrical flair by showering the Raw audience with cash. The rivalry increased, leading to the “Battle of the Billionairesin Detroit. The match required each billionaire to select a representative wrestler – Trump chose Bobby Lashley, while McMahon selected Umaga. The arrangement stipulated that the representative of the defeated side would be publicly shaved.
Despite the primary action being performed by the professional wrestlers, both Trump and McMahon, who were in their 60s, participated in some physical interactions. Trump’s representative Lashley won, causing Vince McMahon to get rid of Trump.
The showdown between Trump and McMahon highlighted WrestleMania 23, which drew a crowd of 80,103 to Ford Field, surpassing the previous attendance record of 78,129 set during the 2003 BasketBowl game between Michigan State and Kentucky.
