After more than 150 days of trial and more than two years in the Fulton County Jail, Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug, was released Thursday evening.

Williams, who has been in jail since 2022 on an extensive Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act charge in Fulton County, pleaded guilty as part of a non-negotiated plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

In his plea deal, Williams was convicted under the first offender/conditional discharge statute, sentencing him to a total of 40 years, with the first five years in prison. The sentence was commuted to time served, followed by fifteen years of probation, followed by twenty years in prison.

Should Williams complete the entire 15-year probation period, the deferred portion of the sentence will be commuted to time served.

Williams pleaded guilty to counts 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 and 62 of the indictment, but pleaded ‘nolo contestere’ to counts 1 and 56 of the indictment. These counts were a conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and unlawful for persons in the position of organizer/supervisor/management of the criminal street gang.

Special conditions of his probation include that Williams is not allowed to be in metro Atlanta for 48 hours after his release for the first 10 years of his probation. The only exceptions are if he is attending a wedding, funeral, graduation or medical emergency of an immediate family member.

Second, Williams must return to metro Atlanta to give a live anti-gang and anti-gun violence presentation four times a year at an elementary school, middle school, Boys and Girls Club or similar group.

Williams is also prohibited from communicating with anyone associated with a criminal street gang who is not a member of his immediate family, aside from his biological brother and Sergio Kitchens, also known as Gunna.

He is also not allowed to advertise for criminal street gangs, not even on social media. He is also prohibited from throwing hand gestures that would directly or indirectly promote or represent criminal street gangs.
