What is SEC Network+? How to watch Alabama football vs. Mercer

Saturday’s game between Alabama Football and Mercer at Bryant-Denny Stadium will not be broadcast on regular television or cable. Instead, the game can only be viewed via the Internet.

Each SEC team must play one game on SEC Network+ each season. Saturday’s game will be Alabama’s designated matchup on the platform.

SEC Network+ is a digital platform intended to complement SEC Network’s regular programming. It shows selected non-conference games for football.

Access SEC Network+

Cable or satellite subscribers who have the SEC Network as part of their package are in good shape regarding SEC Network+. They can simply go to ESPN’s website and log into their provider, find the game and watch it from a computer.

ESPN also has apps for phones and tablets, as well as streaming boxes like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and more. Again, those with a cable or satellite subscription including the regular SEC Network can simply log into the app, available in each box’s app store, and watch the game.

For those who don’t have traditional cable or satellite subscriptions but do have streaming packages like Sling, YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Fubo, etc., the process would work exactly the same way if you use the ESPN website or app.

For those who do not subscribe to a streaming service, cable or satellite, ESPN+ is an option. The service is a standalone streaming option that offers live sports and original programming, along with additional website content.

It also includes access to SEC Network+. ESPN+ currently costs $11.99 per month.

To subscribe, simply visit ESPN’s website, look for the logo, and then fill in the required information.

Alabama and Mercer will kick off in Tuscaloosa at 1:00 PM CT.
