What the Bengals said after losing to the Ravens on ‘Thursday Night Football’

Head coach Zac Taylor

On the team’s performance in the second half:

“We lost the turnover battle 1-0. I think that was big. It was 21-7 at that point, when we gave them seven points on the fumble, they had the big play, and then it went back a little bit -and beyond (The Ravens) are just a good football team, but we expected to come here and win. We did everything we could to do that… We also came on the road to being a good team, and it It’s sickening that this is us twice happen.

On Ja’Marr Chase’s 264-yard, three-touchdown play:

“Unbelievable. That’s a good defense. They’ve got a lot of talent there. I thought Ja’Marr (Chase) took a big step forward when we could find ways to get him the ball, (and) I thought (and) I thought (Joe Burrow) did a great job with that.

On Joe Burrow who had 13 quarterback hits:

“They’re a very talented defense. If you throw the ball that much, it’s going to happen. (Joe Burrow) does a great job of buying time until the end to give his guys a chance.”

If he knew the Bengals would go for two:

“Yes. There’s a time situation where I can’t go into the details, but there’s a chance you might get a three-and-out, get the ball back when you’ve just tied it, and you’re going to make a play… .winning field goal. It didn’t feel like we were going to get the ball again.”
