When will Joe Rogan interview Trump? What you need to know

play

Donald Trump is in Texas on Friday to campaign, meet with the media and record an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Seems inevitable, right? The meeting of the bromance minds? But it’s actually Trump’s first appearance on the hugely popular podcast. And while both Trump and Rogan rely on young men for much of their appeal, and share certain similarities in their approaches, it’s not exactly a match made in political heaven. Rogan is harder to pin down than you might think if you’re not a regular listener.

He also receives a variety of guests; recent examples include the singer and rapper Jelly Roll, as well as a wildlife biologist who studies wolves.

When will Joe Rogan interview Trump?

No release date for the podcast appearance has been announced. Rogan’s show is by far the most popular podcast on Spotify, with nearly 15 million listeners on that platform alone. So it’s not surprising that Trump would appear on it, even though Rogan hasn’t been a full-blown MAGA supporter.

Kamala Harris is in talks with Rogan, but she will not appear, a campaign spokesperson told Chris Hayes on MSNBC on Thursday. Harris has appeared on several podcasts, including Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy.”

Both candidates have embraced the format, a shift in the way campaigns are conducted. They have both participated in interviews with national media (although Trump withdrew from a “60 Minutes” interview), but not with the frequency of candidates in the past. The shift in the media landscape is clearly visible in their choices for formats and platforms – and in the way they try to reach voters.

Who is Joe Rogan?

Rogan is a former stand-up comedian and actor, best known for his appearance on ‘News Radio’ and as the host of the reality show ‘Fear Factor’. He continues to work as a UFC commentator. Some of his guests have spread misinformation on various topics during his show, and Rogan has been criticized for several comments and theories he made about COVID-19.

Who Supports Joe Rogan for President?

Rogan is all over the map politically and has been critical of Trump in the past. Rogan also praised Harris’ performance at the presidential debate in September.

In August, he complimented Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was then running for president as an independent candidate, as the only candidate who is not trying to manipulate and mislead voters. Trump responded on Truth Social, his social media platform, saying: “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan is booed the next time he enters the UFC Ring??? MAGA2024.”

Where can you listen to the Joe Rogan podcast?
