PORTLAND, Ore.—Pacific Power announced Nov. 18 a new round of grants focused on community improvement and the environment, including some in the Yakima Valley.

“These organizations uplift our communities and protect our natural environment for generations to come,” said Ryan Flynn, executive director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power.

The Pacific Power Foundation grants total $175,000 and have been awarded to programs and projects in Washington, Oregon and Idaho related to affordable housing access, job training and rural economic development to ecosystem conservation, trail restoration and nature-based education, the utility said.
