Zach Bryan stops concert after fans hit guitarist with thrown object

Zach Bryan keeps finding himself in the headlines, and this time it’s because fans on his show — or at least one fan — didn’t know how to behave.

Video from Bryan’s weekend show at the Tacoma Dome in Washington shows him playing onstage when something is thrown in his direction, striking a guitarist playing next to him. Bryan immediately stopped playing, walked to a microphone and pointed to the crowd in the direction from which the object was thrown.

“Who threw this?” he said as he held up the object. “Who was it? Does anyone know? Who was it?

“Don’t throw (expletives) at concerts, huh?” he added as fans cheered.

Bryan then started walking away before turning around, coming back to the microphone and saying, “And if y’all know who threw it, get them out of here if we ever find out who did it.”

He finally did so after the few tense moments.

Of course, Bryan is in the middle of an ugly breakup with Barstool Sports personality Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. He hasn’t said much publicly after the split, but she has, accusing him of abuse. And last week, Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy railed against Bryan, making a wild accusation about his actions at UFC 309.

“I know I said I’m done talking about that little, little, pathetic man, Zach Bryan,” Portnoy said in a video shared on social media last week. “Time to move on, and it sucks that everything happened, but walk and talk and listen to this story.

“Last Saturday night, UFC New York, Brianna Chickenfry is going to the event,” he continued. “Her first UFC event. She advertises that she is going. She’s everywhere. Everyone knows she’s going. During the fights, this guy, David Onama, wins the fights, steps in the middle of the ring and calls out Zach Bryan. He says, ‘You know, I’m so happy. Zach Bryan, this one’s for him. I can’t wait to see his show in a few weeks. ”

Portnoy then showed the clip of Onama giving Bryan the shoutout after the fight.

“That sucks for Bri,” he said. “She was there.”

But then Portnoy showed Onama’s clip on SiriusXM’s Fight Night show, saying he didn’t even know who Bryan was.

“It was so strange that the podcaster said, ‘What’s going on with Zach Bryan? Are you a big Zach Bryan guy? ”

“(Onama) said, ‘I don’t even know who Zach Bryan is. His manager and his team contacted my team and begged for a shout-out,” Portnoy said.

“This little, little psychopath is so pathetic and so lost, where they had to beg UFC guys for a shout out, just to rub it in Brianna’s… like Brianna gives a (expletive). We know you’re popular Zach, you don’t have to bribe people to say your name, you pathetic little guy.

“Listen, you can like his music,” Portnoy added. “He has good music. But this man is the worst.”

Following the post, Onama took to social media to further explain his side.

“Hey guys, it feels like this is being blown way out of proportion,” he said. “A promoter offered me comp tickets to one of Zach Bryan’s concerts if I gave a shout out to his upcoming stadium shows. I did it because my teammates love Zach and Zach always took care of them when he played in Denver. Zach hasn’t contacted me at all about his. I just supported someone who always supported my team.”
