Bootleg of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ 1982 Edinburgh concert is released on vinyl

A live bootleg of a classic Tom Petty concert will be released at the end of November.

The Petty Estate is working with Jac White‘s Third Man Records to release Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers live in Edinburgh 1982: The Gennaro Tapesa concert taken from a bootleg recording by a sound mixer Gennaro Riopo.

“This rare recording has not been touched since the day it was captured,” the announcement continues Petty’s Instagram.

The concert took place during the band’s Long After Dark tour in 1982 and featured performances of classic Petty songs such as “American Girl,” “You Got Lucky,” “Don’t Do Me Like That,” “Breakdown” and ‘Refugee’.

The Gennaro tapes will be released on November 29 as a three-LP vinyl collection pressed from the original cassette, with an exclusive turquoise vinyl variant available through the Tom Petty Store.
