According to multiple reports, Johnson was arrested just outside Nashville on November 17 for speeding and drug possession.

The 49-year-old country music star, who recently released his first new album – ‘Midnight Gasoline’ – in years, was reportedly taken into custody in Williamson County and charged with drug possession and speeding. His bond was set at $500,000.

“We can confirm that Jamey Johnson was arrested in Williamson Country on Sunday, November 17.” the Tennessee Highway Patrol told WTVF. “The incident remains under investigation.”

Whiskey Riff reported this Johnson was charged under a Tennessee code that states “possession of between half an ounce and 10 pounds of marijuana is a class E misdemeanor, punishable by up to one to six years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

The site states Johnson will be back in court on February 6, 2025 at 1 p.m.

It’s hard to believe that Johnson, who was released Wednesday night and performed at the CMAs, would actually see six years… or, for that matter, get a little bit of weed, but this will be one to watch to look.
