Although polio cases have declined 99.9 percent worldwide since 1988 and wild polio is endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan, polio is a threat everywhere. That’s why Rotary members biked 1,500 miles from Juárez, Mexico to Rotary International headquarters between July 19 and 30 to raise money.

The cyclists want to raise $500,000. Every dollar they raise will be matched by the Gates Foundation (totaling $1,500,000).

Rotary member and cyclist Felipe Meza will conclude his ride on July 30 from 1-2 p.m. at One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave.
