Dave Portnoy showed everyone what a thank you note from Taylor Swift looks like, including her stationery

It’s no surprise that when Taylor Swift passes notes, they are on custom stationery with a custom wax “13” stamp. What is Surprisingly, the recipient had a handwritten note on that “from Taylor Swift’s desk” cardstock Dave Portnoythe founder of Barstool Sports who goes by Swiftie – and a proponent of Donald Trump‘s presidential ambitions for 2024.

Portnoy, who attended the second show of Swift’s Miami leg of her Eras Tour on Saturday night in his special sparkly jacket, shared that Swift’s younger brother, Austin Swiftthe note personally delivered to him in the VIP tent at the show, and that he shared a nice hug with Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift. The note (with the footer describing Swift as a “songwriter/feline enthusiast”) thanked Portnoy for his longtime support and referenced some of the backlash she’s received since showing her support. Kamala Harris for chairman.

“Dave, I’m so glad you’re on the show tonight!” Swift wrote. ‘I wanted to thank you for always being so helpful and loyal, and for standing by me when many people didn’t. I hope you have a great evening!! Love, Taylor”

In September, speculation about whether Swift would share her candidate choice was high. Portnoy, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, was asked about it.

“I will never criticize anyone for talking politics,” he said in an interview on Fox News ahead of the Harris-Trump debate, about whether he thought Swift would show his support. As we now know, shortly after that debate ended, Swift released her statement expressing her support for Harris. “I don’t see the benefit for her, but to each his own,” Portnoy said about whether Swift would speak out about the election. He also announced at the time: “Yes, I am voting for Trump. I don’t know if I would call myself a Trump guy.”

Whatever he might call himself, he’s outspoken: Last week, Portnoy posted a video of a six-minute rant about Harris.

“It’s the gaslighting the left is doing with Kamala Harris that makes it sound like she’s a great, groundbreaking candidate,” he said in part. “She is the worst candidate to ever run for president.”

But the morning after Swift gave her own endorsement, Portnoy stood up for her on social media. “While the king of the Swifties asks me what I think of her Kamala recommendation,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “It doesn’t matter to me at all. In this country people can vote for whoever they want. How someone votes will never change my opinion of a person. I vote the other way, but to each their own.”

Taste Taste took issue with the title “king of the Swifties,” but Swift apparently appreciated the gesture across the aisle and thanked him for it over the weekend.
