Guitarist of Foo Fighters Dave Grohl has admitted to cheating on his wife and having a child out of wedlock.

“I recently became a father to a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock,” Grohl, 55, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, September 10. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything in my power to earn their trust and forgiveness.”

Grohl is married to his wife, Jordyn Blumsince 2003. They have three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

“We are grateful for your attention to all of the children involved as we move forward,” Grohl concluded in his statement.

Although Blum, 48, has been out of the spotlight in recent years, her husband has occasionally spoken candidly about his family in interviews.

In a 2007 chat with The guardGrohl called Blum and his eldest daughter “anchors that keep me from disappearing completely.”

Two years later, he explained how fatherhood changed his perspective on touring and working non-stop with the Foo Fighters.

“I used to tour nine months a year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days,” he told Time. “It’s changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and maybe you’re a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that will find its way into your songwriting.”

Grohl expressed that sentiment in a 2007 interview People when discussing his new reality as a father.

“We don’t talk about how much we had to drink last night anymore,” he said of his band. “(Now) it’s about how much sleep we got, how much sleep the baby got, diaper rash, bottle feeding. … I realized that the life I always imagined would start when the band stopped has to start now.”

In 2023, Blum made a rare public appearance with Grohl and their three daughters at the Grammy Awards. During the star-studded show, the family of five posed for photos together on the red carpet in Los Angeles.

Blum and Grohl recently attended a Wimbledon tennis tournament in London in July.

As for the Foo Fighters’ tour schedule, they have no performances scheduled except for a performance at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut on September 29.
