This weekend, Indiana American Football takes on UCLA in the Big Ten Saturday Night.

It’s the Hoosiers’ first Power Five opponent of the Curt Cignetti era and comes after convincing (to put it mildly in the latter case) wins over FIU and Western Illinois. Indiana will need to prove it can maintain its momentum against tougher competition.

UCLA is an interesting one, because the Bruins also have a new head coach, albeit under different circumstances. Chip Kelly took the offensive coordinator job at Ohio State, which promoted UCLA running backs coach DeShaun Foster to head coach.

It’s his first game against a power five opponent… ever. So it could get interesting.

Game Notes

Indiana is 2-0 after winning against lesser opponents. The Hoosiers’ Kurtis Rourke-led passing attack has looked good through two games as he finds his feet in a new offense, while the backfield rotation has shown incredible promise. The defense slumped late in the first half in both games, but has held up well overall with a new group and coordinator.

UCLA is 1-0 after a narrow 16-13 win over Hawaii. The Bruins relied heavily on quarterback Ethan Garbers, who led the way in passing and rushing yards but also threw two interceptions to keep the Rainbow Warriors in the game.
