‘Let’s have a fight with Floyd Mayweather’: Vijender Singh eager for high-profile boxing promotions in India

The Olympic bronze medalist, who remains the last Indian male boxer to take home a medal in boxing, expressed his interest in bringing a fight to the shores of India.

While the world was caught up in the unique boxing fight between Youtuber fighter Jake Paul and legendary boxer Mike Tyson, Indian boxer Vijender Kumar expressed his interest in bringing a fight to the shores of India.

The 39-year-old took to social media platform

The Olympic bronze medalist remains the last Indian male boxer to take home a medal at the quadrennial extravaganza when he claimed the third podium spot at the 2008 edition of the Beijing Summer Games.

America Mayweather, also an Olympic bronze medalist at the 1996 Atalanta Games and proved to be one of the most profitable and profitable boxers until his retirement in 2017, when he retired with an impeccable record.

Paul scored a unanimous decision victory against the likes of Iron Mike on Saturday at the AT&T Arena in Texas, capping off a high-profile fight that has been on fans’ minds since the fight was announced.

Tyson had not been involved in a competitive fight since 2005 and came out of retirement for the fight, which was postponed by six months from the originally proposed date for medical reasons as Tyson dealt with stomach ulcers.

The age difference between the participants was so great that the fight was denied permission in several states in the United States of America before Texas stepped in to stage the multi-million dollar event.

The day’s undercard also featured Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat, who recorded a victory over Whindersson Nunes in the super-middleweight category that day.
