Millions of people in Florida were without power Thursday after Hurricane Milton caused tornadoes, flooding and high winds, killing several people.

Milton made landfall Wednesday evening as a Category 3 storm near Siesta Key on the west coast of Florida, south of Tampa Bay. The storm was barreling east-northeast toward Cape Canaveral with maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour and is moving into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center.

More than 3 million people in Florida were without power, according to PowerOutage.us.

At least two people were killed in St. Lucie County as a result of a tornado that touched down at Spanish Lakes Country Club in Fort Pierce on Wednesday around 4:30 PM ET, according to the county sheriff’s office.
