LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its weekly rankings Monday, showing Nebraska ranked No. 5 in the country.

The Huskers were previously in second place but dropped after being swept by SMU on Tuesday.

SMU did not appear in the Top 25.

Six Big Ten teams are ranked in the Top 25: No. 3 Penn State, No. 5 Nebraska, No. 7 Purdue, No. 8 Wisconsin, No. 12 Oregon and No. 19 Minnesota.

Pittsburgh takes the top spot for the first time in the school’s history, while the previously No. 1 city of Texas dropped to sixth in the poll.

Nebraska hosts undefeated and No. 9-ranked Creighton at the Devaney Center on Tuesday for the first top 10 game.
