Packers QB’s ACL ‘Still Intact’

The status of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who left the game with an apparent leg injury in the closing seconds of Friday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, remains unclear. However, as the Packers’ flight nears its touchdown in Wisconsin, multiple reports have shed some light on what Love’s injury actually is—or in this case—isn’t.

At this time, the Packers have ruled out an ankle injury for Love, who will undergo an MRI after the team’s plane lands later Saturday morning, according to Diana Russini of The Athletics.

Fans, pundits and medical professionals weighing in on social media believed that Love may have suffered an ankle injury. The Packers’ latest word, and video of the injury itself, confirms that is not the case.

Unfortunately, the video, which shows Love’s knee snapping as he was awkwardly tackled to the ground between Eagles defenders Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat, leaves the door open to a possible knee injury.

What kind of knee injury does Jordan Love have?

If it’s not an ankle injury, it’s most likely a knee injury of some sort. It’s still unclear what kind of knee injury it is, but initial tests on Love showed that his ACL is “still intact,” according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Severity of Jordan Love’s injury still unknown

Jordan Love’s injury status remains unclear. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters when asked about Love’s status after the game, “I don’t know.”

It appears that Love did not sustain a serious injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, but that does not mean there is not structural damage to another part of his knee.

The upcoming MRI and any further tests will reveal the full story about Love’s status.
