Rachel Zegler blasted by Conservatives’ Megyn Kelly for anti-Trump lament

“F*ck Donald Trump” may not be the message the Walt Disney Company wants to send Snow White star that is there now.

But that’s what they have, even if Rachel Zegler tries to get it back.

In now extensive posts on Instagram, Zegler denounced the former and future president for his election victory over Kamala Harris on November 5 as ‘a deep disease in this country’. The Steven Spielberg alum West Side Story, which is currently on Broadway Romeo + Juliet, went on to lament “the sheer amount of people who showed up for this man who is threatening our democracy.”

“It’s terrifying how many people support what this man preaches,” Zegler added in messages that appear to have been posted during the performance of Shakespeare’s play in New York late last week. “It is a foolish subscription to a false sense of security, of masculinity, of intelligence, of patriotism and of humanity. there is no help, no counsel, in any of them. I could go on. I won’t do that. I feel sad. You probably too. F*ck this”

“May Trump supporters, Trump voters, and Trump himself never know peace,” Zegler also wrote on the Meta-owned platform, paraphrasing singer Ethel Cain’s comments in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s reelection win. “Another four years of hate, leaning us into a world I don’t want to live in. Leaning us into a world where it will be difficult to raise my daughter.”

Of Snow White will be released next spring and Netflix’s animated film Enchanted which came out next week, 23-year-old Zegler (who has no daughter) quickly took a beating in the social media world for her condemnation of Trump and his MAGA base.

While Trump nominated controversial nominees like former Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and RFK Jr. before continuing to appoint his 2.0 administration, that backlash was followed Thursday by a blast from Megyn Kelly and her friends on the Ruthless podcast.

“There’s something wrong with this person,” Kelly said bluntly today about Zegler.

“Hey, Disney, you’re going to have to remake your movie because this woman is a pig, and you fired Gina Carano for way less than this crap,” ex-Fox News host Kelly pitched to the Ruthless hosts and her podcast audience today about the already controversial live action coming up Snow White. “I’m sorry, Disney, she has to go now.”

Carano is currently headed to a September 2025 lawsuit against Disney in her Elon Musk-backed sex discrimination suit, as she was suspended from The Mandalorian for her own social media posts.

Now working on projects with the hardline conservatives Daily threadthe former martial arts fighter denies Disney’s claim that she decided to “publicly downplay the Holocaust by comparing criticism of political conservatives to the destruction of millions of Jewish people.” Carano even says she was targeted because of her more contrarian POV than the usual Hollywood progressiveness, while Star Wars franchise co-stars like Mark Hamill and Pedro Pascal were allowed to criticize Trump without reproach throughout his first term.

Having reinvented herself in recent years, not least as she became a ceilometer for the right wing, Kelly today continued to slam the Mouse House harder as she threw the red meat at her followers.

“They’re dealing with the controversy with ABC, with one of their biggest stars, Michael Strahan, refusing to put his hand over his heart because of the national anthem and the backlash just for that,” short-lived NBC host Kelly added. Ruthless co-host Michael Duncan said beforehand: “This comes a time when Disney stock continues to fall.” (Disney shares actually rose nearly 10% today after a strong fourth-quarter earnings report)

“You’re going to release a Disney movie Snow White, a beloved American character, with a wife that more than half the country hates, the half that just elected Donald Trump?” Kelly said to her SiriusXM listeners. “This is an incredible turning point right now.”

“We’ll see which way woke Disney goes,” Kelly concluded in terms very similar to what Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used in recent years in the now abandoned political and legal disputes with one of the Sunshine’s largest employers State.

Zegler took to IG this afternoon as the conservative media storm swirled to say sorry.

To this end, after weathering an earlier storm with Zegler over comments about the premise of a modern Snow WhiteDisney is currently silent.

In a city where entrenched Democratic donors and studio bosses are currently trying to gauge the cultural temperature as Trump’s second inauguration approaches, what Disney says or doesn’t say about Zegler’s comments could become the Hollywood standard for the next four years.

It’s still early, but ahead of Thursday’s earnings report, the Bob Iger-run company has no plans to co-star Gal Gadot and Greta Gerwig Snow White As of the March 21, 2025 premiere, Deadline has learned.

This post will be updated if Disney responds to Deadline’s request for comment.
