HOUSTON – The Memphis Grizzlies’ itinerary to start the 2024-2025 season continues with a trip to Houston.

The Grizzlies will take on the Southwest Division foe the Houston Rockets. These two teams will play the first of four meetings this season.

Memphis opened its season with a 126-124 victory over the Utah Jazz. Houston was favored in the opener, but lost 110-105 to the Charlotte Hornets.

Houston has a few former Grizzlies on the roster, but only one will be available. Dillon Brooks is expected to play, but Rockets center Steven Adams is out with a calf injury.

Memphis will have its hands full with Rockets center Alperen Sengun. Rookie Zach Edey will tie the game as he looks to bounce back from a season opener in which he committed a 15-minute foul.

Sengun had 25 points and 18 rebounds in Houston’s last game.

Memphis is led by defensive backs Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. Santi Aldama stepped up and scored 27 points on Wednesday. Memphis could use another strong performance from Aldama, with Jaren Jackson Jr. unlikely. will play.
