A week after his three-turnover game in Chicago, which included a bad interception at the end, quarterback Will Levis made another costly mistake in this game. Unfortunately, it negated some of the good things Levis had done in the game. Television cameras showed coach Brian Callahan berating Levis after a costly fumble in the first half, when he carelessly threw the ball back into the Jets’ 10 and the ball was recovered for a fumble. “I think the camera caught it pretty clearly, if I had to guess,” Callahan said when asked what he had said to Levis. “Yeah, I was mad. It was stupid. It was the exact same thing he did last week, and he cost us points in the red zone. He’s a grown man and knows better. I was really annoyed that he cost us three points in a game when we needed it.” Levis left the stadium dejected and kicked himself for his mistake on the goal line. “I’m not going to point to one play as the reason why we lost the game,” Levis said. “But I can obviously look internally and see what I can do better. It’s something I wanted to clean up and didn’t get to do this week. It’s disappointing, for sure, and I’m going to do my very best to be better for my team this week.”

Titans receiver Calvin Ridley made a big impact from the start. Ridley scored on a 10-yard run early off a handoff from Levis and ran to the corner of the end zone. It came just a few plays after Ridley had turned the Jets on the Jets, getting a first down on a 15-yard gainer on third down. Later in the game, Ridley made a spectacular catch on a deep ball from Levis, snagging the ball between two defenders for a 40-yard touchdown catch. It was all part of a four-catch, 77-yard, two-touchdown day for Ridley, though he was hardly in the mood for celebration. “We lost, man,” Ridley said after the game. “I don’t want to lose, I want to win the game and go home and chill and be happy. But we got to get back to work and figure it out. I think we’re getting close. I’m mad, but I think we’re getting close.”
