Steph Curry to miss Warriors-Thunder Matchup due to knee injury

The Golden State Warriors will be without star guard Stephen Curry against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night because he is experiencing pain in both knees.

This injury update doesn’t come as a complete shock, as Curry has appeared on injury reports here and there while dealing with left knee bursitis. However, he has not missed a single match for it so far. He missed three games earlier this season due to an ankle sprain.

Wednesday’s game has major implications for the Western Conference standings, as the Thunder hold the No. 1 spot with a 13-4 record, while the Warriors sit in second place with a 12-5 record. A win in Golden State will catapult them into the conference lead.

However, securing a win will now be a more difficult task as the Warriors will be without their top scorer (22.4 points per game). Curry also leads the team with an average of 6.5 assists per game and has been his usual dominant self from beyond the arc, making 4.3 threes per game at a 44.4% clip.

It’s still likely that Curry will be ready to compete in Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
