Storm Team 2 is monitoring the tropics as the warm weekend approaches

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – As the Lowcountry enjoys a warm weekend with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s, Storm Team 2 is also keeping a close eye on potential tropical development over the next week.

Storm Team 2 is monitoring potential tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico. While there is no immediate threat, the system has a greater chance of organizing, and Storm Team 2 will keep you informed of all developments.

In addition, Hurricanes Kirk and Leslie remain active in the Atlantic Ocean, although neither poses a current risk to the Lowcountry.

For Saturday, meteorologist Grace Lowe is predicting partly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid 80s to upper 70s, making for a warm and pleasant day.

Tonight temperatures will drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s, with a chance of scattered showers.

Overall, the forecast for the weekend looks promising, with a mix of clouds and warm temperatures.
