TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg’s cause of death revealed

TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg’s cause of death has been released, just a week after she died at the age of 25.

Taylor — who had more than 1.4 million followers on the social media platform — reportedly died on Oct. 4 from complications related to asthma and Addison’s disease, a representative for her family told Today.com.

A source connected to the influencer’s family confirmed to People that she died of complications from a severe asthma attack.

Months before her death, Taylor spoke of the pain she suffered while searching for a diagnosis. In a creepy video, the TikToker shared that she felt like she was “fighting for life every day.”

“One girl said it felt like the life had been sucked out of me. Honestly, that was true for a while,” she said in the TikTok clip. “I feel like I’m fighting for life every day. If I didn’t necessarily know what was happening to me, I would lay in bed in pain and just wish I was dead because I just wanted it to end, and I don’t necessarily feel that way now.

Taylor held back tears as she shared, “I should be in my prime. I should be able to walk or run to the mailbox and those are just things I can’t really do right now.”

Her husband, Cameron Grigg, announced her “sudden and unexpected” death on Instagram this weekend.

“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” Cameron’s emotional post read. “Over the past year, Taylor has faced more pain and suffering than most people experience in a lifetime. And despite that, she has still been so light and has always brought joy to everyone around her.”

Cameron called his wife, whom he married last year, the “most courageous and strong woman I know” and said Taylor “saved my life and so many others out there.”

He also revealed that she donated her organs.

“More than anything, Taylor would want to know that she continues to save lives even after she is gone from this world,” Cameron wrote. “And though her earthly body may have failed her, her memory and life will continue forever. She doesn’t owe anyone anything. But she would like everyone to know that she is doing more than well.”

Taylor’s family launched a GoFundMe to help with costs related to her death. Cameron noted that they “don’t have anything in order financially” and had no insurance. As of Thursday afternoon, more than $51,000 was donated toward the $100,000 goal.

Taylor and Cameron started dating in 2021 after meeting on social media. They got engaged in June 2022 and married in August 2023.

Her last video was posted on September 26, in which she spent time with their beloved dog.
