Twitch bans Dan Saltman indefinitely for ‘extreme harassment’, streamer claims anti-Semitism

Twitch has issued an indefinite ban against Dan Saltman, citing “extreme harassment” as a violation. Saltman is known for co-hosting the Anything Else podcast along with streamer Steven ‘Destiny’ and announced the ban on X.com (formerly Twitter). “This ban on ‘extreme harassment’ is entirely based on my crusade for those who have been discriminated against by the biased and racist T&S team,” he wrote. Saltman further claimed that the ban was in response to his advocacy, including calls to Congress and advertisers targeting Twitch policies.

Saltman, who does not actively stream on Twitch, is a vocal critic of the platform and its CEO, Dan Clancy. He accused the platform of hosting anti-Semitic content, adding: “Even Jewish people did not want this ban to be introduced. Ridiculous starting team at @twitch. @djclancy999 must resign.”

Recent changes to Twitch’s content policies may have affected the ban. Twitch recently classified the use of “Zionist” as a slur as a prohibitive offense. Saltman responded with criticism, claiming: “A very foolish decision, made mainly because the management team is absolutely incompetent in every respect.”

Saltman’s promotion of a parody website, danclancysucks.com, which he says exposes Twitch’s alleged biases, may have contributed to the ban. This controversy has reignited discussions about Twitch’s moderation practices and the impact of its policies on the platform’s broader community.
