The Vikings got the third quarter underway. After halftime with a 14-3 lead over the New York Giants, Sam Darnold and Minnesota immediately went down the field for a touchdown.

Aaron Jones had two runs of 10+ yards and then Darnold continued his hot start by Jalen Nailor for a 21-yard touchdown. It was a great play design by head coach Kevin O’Connell. He used Justin Jefferson as a decoy on the right side of the field. Darnold pumped a fake to Jefferson, the Giants’ defensive backs bit, and Darnold placed a perfect pass into Nailor’s arms.

The Giants then took the next possession down the field for a field goal, but the Vikings defense continued to play good football, making Daniel Jones uncomfortable in the pocket.

Sam Darnold doesn’t seem to be done yet, so stay tuned for more news throughout the rest of the game as we’re sure the Vikings offense has a lot of work to do.
