Week 1 of the 2024 college football season continues today with a packed Thursday of action, featuring matchups for several top-25 teams (AP Poll). In the Big Ten, Rutgers kicks off the day against Howard, and Illinois closes out the night with an in-state showdown against Eastern Illinois.

No. 24 NC State will host Western Carolina and No. 11 Missouri will open the season against Murray State. One of the most anticipated matchups of the day will likely be Deion Sanders’ Colorado will face North Dakota State. While Colorado is the favorite going into the game, there are a lot of questions surrounding the Buffaloes after they started 2023 on a hot streak, ending with losses in eight of their last nine games for a 4-8 record. Colorado and Sanders, newly joined to the Big 12, shouldn’t expect an easy opponent in North Dakota State, but will look to start 2024 strong after significant offseason conversations about the program and Sanders’ standout personality.
